When I had my ASUS wireless router, I disabled the 5 GHz completely and it solved some of my slowness issues, I don't know why considering the 5 GHz is supposed to be faster but it did, and yes you can stream HD video on the 2.4 GHz channel to your TV, it works just fine in case someone tells you otherwise.
